I was of impression that you first replaced those and then whole transmission...

I replaced the transmission seals with new OEM and topped off transmission fluid while running. The issue still persists. I have eliminated all of the fault codes except for the EMF failure at this point. I honestly think we replaced a bad transmission with another bad transmission.

I did see a notice about "mechatronic before 03/03 without shift solenoid protection bar cannot be reused." Well, both of these transmissions are from late 2002 and lack that protective bar over the solenoid, for what that's worth.

This car has taken too much of my time, and I don't particularly want to roll the dice on another 20 year old transmission, so I think I'll send this car away.
