Your chances to make that happen is pretty little, if you have the XP Pro running on the background because all the driver for chipset has been installed when try to change might not work, it does have some ways to do but the time consuming will better off install everything fresh again.

Should work o.k in A dell e6410 or pretty much any e series, but you will need to reset sata mode in regedit before you reboot and may need to add some display drivers to your HDD

For sure new computer with fresh install will be best.
