Hi,

does anybody have a solution for the retrofit of the tail lights on a G31? 

I used the latest software and added -HELC to the VO.

Then i used the coding values posted for G30.

did I understand it right, that you added HELC to VO but didtn flash the BDC to latest availalbe iStep software and you didnt code it after flashing?

BDC was already flashed to 23-03-xx before and I VO coded it with HELC.
After that the lights are working but the error came up.

Looks like wrong wiring (or maybe wrong region for tail lights, dunno). There is no special coding & etc for g31

I worked on the tail lights of the 2021 lci model before it was shipped.
If the wiring is done properly as you said, add helc and do aktiv for bl_L®_is _led and it should work without problem.

So set is_led on BL_L and BL_R to aktiv? Because it is set to nicht_aktiv like on G30.

Gentlemen, I have encountered several cases where adding HELC alone is not enough. Despite upgrading to the latest ilevel, the brake light error often appears. I think BMW still has a bug in their retrofit and they haven't made a good fix for it yet.

In such cases you need to change the value (I don't remember exactly off my head) BL_L (change to CCM_0) and BL_R (change to CCM_0). This solves the problem of brake light errors 100%.

Does this also fix the error when starting the engine? The error message brake light defective appears on G31 every time it starts
