RE: ZF 8HP45Z SAT problem
Very often the mechatronics electronics is fine, since your trans shows wear not sowtware issues I would transfer your mechatronics electronics to the low mileage used trans and be done.
To be clear transfer your trans electronics leave in the valve body from the low mileage used trans Dont forget to keep yourself grounded while handling the mechatronics, and dont touch the connector pins!! |

RE: ZF 8HP45Z SAT problem
I went to a automatic transmission service for a full diagnosis. They said that the problem could be from the engine, not the gearbox itself. They said that the engine has a lack o power unitl 1800rpm and than it has too much power. But i have no engine errors. Turbocharger is brand new. Also the injectors and EGR are brand new.

RE: ZF 8HP45Z SAT problem
You need to check live data for all air data like masses, temperatures and pressures (ambient, after turbocharger, etc - all there are) for sanity.
In quite a few cases I found air temperature sensors indicating way too high temperature which causes engine control unit to decrease fuel amount especially on low revs. And no errors are registered because they are still within allowed parameters. Just use common sense. For example if sensor says air temp after turbocharger is 90°C and you are coasting on freeway there is clearly something wrong with it. Also compare actual pressures with calculated ones. If the discrepancy is not very high error will not be registered, but problem is there. And of course MAF readings. |

But, to be more precise, he said that the power is not delivered correctly on low to medium revs. (26-07-2019, 06:59 AM)Node Wrote: You need to check live data for all air data like masses, temperatures and pressures (ambient, after turbocharger, etc - all there are) for sanity.Thank you for that info. Today I have replaced the IAT sensor. The shifting points are different now. I dont't want to be overly excited, but I think that was the problem. I have replaced the IAT sensor with one EPS-FACET, just for testing. Tomorrow I will buy the OEM one. So...i have replaced the Turbo, MAP, MAF, injectors, EGR, Exhaust gas pressure before turbocharger sensor, DPF backpressure sensor, Swirl flaps, replaced the gearbox oil with pan, when...in fact...the problem was this tiny little 50€ sensor! F*ck you IAT sensor |

RE: ZF 8HP45Z SAT problem
There is local proverb here... Measure 9 times and cut on 10th. That's why proper diagnosis saves heaps of money. But that little bugger gave me something to think about the first time one of my friends complained that car does not feel right anymore. Now I know what to look for.

RE: ZF 8HP45Z SAT problem
I will test a bit more, for a few days, if the problem is gone. I'll write here if that was indeed the problem for me.

RE: ZF 8HP45Z SAT problem
Ok, some feedback after a few days. I dont`t know why, but for a day or two the car seemed to run great. But, after a day or two, the old problems with the gearbox reappeared. The transmission mechanic said that the engine would be the problem, not the gearbox itself. In my opinion, the engine runs great. The only odd thing that I have noticed in time, is that, sometimes, when starting the engine after night, after turning on, for a second the engine slightly shakes but without RPM increasing or decreasing. I have created some log files for my engine boost and rail pressure. For some reason...the "air mass target" is always at 2000 units.
