I would prefer if it was the rectangular one.

Better buy this from Digimotor. It is square and looks original. (Haven't seen the rear view end though). It is a subjective answer.

You mean this?? Mine both come without this regulator but I got some to rework when I learn how to smile

5V memory will work without changing the voltage controller (capacitor). Of course you should change the voltage controller for improved tool quality.

Not sure if this was mentioned in the forum.
There are two regulator types.
LT3010EMS8E-5
LT3010EMS8E.
The LT3010EMS8E has sense with adjustable voltage.
The LT3010EMS8E-5 has fixed 5V voltage
As per my photo above I purchased the fixed 5V voltage regulator.

From aliexpress , its impossible to find perfect one.
You need to find as good as possible and then do rework or buy from someone who allready done it.

Im waiting for parts to arrive to rework my vas tool happy
