RE: Flexray initialisation has knocked out flexray system
You need enet or icom same like for ista or esys
Successfully retrofit on BMW F30 335xi 248,302,3AG,430,5AG,5AS,6NS,8TH,IHKA3

RE: Flexray initialisation has knocked out flexray system
I will be honest the car has given me a nightmare since I bought it.
Got ripped off and it was sold as non runner with electrical fault, what they had done had swapped the fem for something else to mask the seized engine. So over a year later due to no time I've rebuilt the engine and am now just ironing out all the gremlins that's how I managed to kill the flexray system |

RE: Flexray initialisation has knocked out flexray system
Recover that is simple, connect with enet or ICOM, using esys, make sure that you've a correct fa and a correct i step shipment stored in the car, then calculate svt and store it in the car. Now you can init flaxray. Send vin if you have doubt of correctness about fa and i step shipment

Can you explain your reply in lehmanns terms as I've never used esys before so fa, I step and svt I have no idea what they are |

RE: Flexray initialisation has knocked out flexray system
Fa is the vehicle order of the car, it contains all the characteristics of the car like optionals, vin, model year, and so on..... I step shipment is the software level (you can simplify and assume that as software version) wich the car came from the bmw production plant. This two "infos" are needed to calculate svt (list of all ecus with utilized protocols and communication channels specified for every ecu) and fp (vehicle profile, it contains all the properties defined in fa but writed as "profile properties"). I'm trying to describe those in simple terms, but the real story it's a bit more complicated and interconnected by each of these parameters.
So with correct fa and i step shipment you can calculate all the correct "things" of the car |

Thankyou makes more sense now So me running the flexray initialisation has knocked the system out because something doesn't marry up correctly within that system ? |

RE: Flexray initialisation has knocked out flexray system
ISTA just tells the car to initialize flexray by itself. Car (FEM module) does that based on module list data stored in it. Most probably your FEM module does not have anything stored (or it could be totally bogus). So it closed all flexrays as unused.
Hence the proper fix, as Angel suggested, you need to fix the reason that happened - store proper SVT onto FEM first, then initialize flexray. You can do that using ESys or you can flash the car using ISTA which will update SVT at the end. But flashing whole car you need proper power supply. So ESys might be easier if you don't. To quickly open all flexray ports you can use tool32, so your car at least works. |
