BMW F10 no FlexRay communication at all.
Hi all,
I have some strange problems with the BMW F10. The background story from the owner is that the car was parked for a couple of weeks and after this time battery was low so they started the car from jump cabels. After this car indicated a lot of errors in the cockpit like Powertrain, DSC, SRS, Lane assist, Pedestrian protection, power steering, etc... Car is starting normally, and power steering is working in 1 of 10 car starting and is limited. There is no communication with modules on FlexRay at all like in the attached pictures below. All of the power supplies to modules are ok FlexRay cables are also not braked or shorted. I don't know that thing about it. Broken all of the modules on FR? Vin: WBAFR71050C262275 Thanks for any advice. |

Your Flexray ports on ZGW are closed or defect. Open up the ports with tool32 and make flexray init.
If my post helped you hit the thanks and reputation button. Thank you.

RE: BMW F10 no FlexRay communication at all.
I would try a simple solution first.
1. Install a fully charged, intact battery 2. Delete all error memories 3. Disconnect the battery for approx. 1 hour 4. Then reconnect the battery and read the error memory again If that doesn't help, you have to continue troubleshooting the FlexRay. Check the bus signal with an oscilloscope, possibly disconnect one control device at a time from the bus and check the signal for changes. |

The problem is solved.
There was a DSC module defect and sometimes lost resistance on FlexRay pins. There was a connection to MCU but without termination resistance. Replace and coding fix it. |
