Hey, I have an F30 with flexray issues. Customer got a FEM from the dealer to fix a headlight comms issue. He programmed the replacement FEM himself with Autel, and we have no-comms with any of the flexray modules (DME, DSC, ICM, etc). Car will start and run, but has a ton of codes, all flexray modules red on ISTA tree. I tried to initialize flexray with ISTA+, but it errors out saying it can't communicate with ICM (confirmed power and ground at ICM). Can I check and open flexray channels with Tool32? What needs to be done to get this fixed?

Use tool32 load zgw.prg

Run status_flexray_pfad to check flexray port status

Run steuren_flexray_pfad to enable flexray port

Will open all port and in esys settings tick option "update VCM after TAL Calculaion" then VO code one of this module on flexray. Use ISTA to sync flexray

Need calculate and write Fa, Svt Soll then initialize fleray with Ista.

Thanks guys, we managed to open up the flexray channels and initialize everything. Now we just have "incorrect variant monitoring" from the DME. I'm wondering if this 320i had been flashed to a 328i or something and now the new dealer FEM doesn't match.

Flash to stock FEM and DME and see the problem is still there.
Make sure there is original VO in FEM. When you create SVT target Write it to VCM then after flash init flexray. FEM_GW should be flashed with flexray tabele automatically.
Then the job will be done correctly
