Bmw G31 retrofit Mgu id7 atm problem
hi all, I retrofitted the complete mgu system on my 2017 G31..

I mounted kombi, mgu_hu, cid 12.3, ram and booster (i implemented dvbt2 tv, dab radio, carplay, android auto and bowers&wilkins).
everything is perfectly functional (including the "hey bmw" voice commands), but I've never been able to get my ATM to work both as services and as gps..
to use the navigator I have the external gps directed to mgu_hu ..
I got atm2 with a new antenna and validated the certificates for ipsec, updated and encrypted! both gps and the ability to update services worked immediately!
now to recover my services I moved the esim from my atm to the new atm2, but once this was done the services no longer work for me.
I've been to bmw to update online services via ista and it does everything successfully, but in reality nothing works in the car.
I noticed that with my esim the network is blocked in EDGE, while with the original esim of the atm2 (which works) I have LTE connectivity.
How can I fix? It seems that atm2 does not accept the exchange of the esim with another...
Thanks in advance!

RE: Bmw G31 retrofit Mgu id7 atm problem
From what i know the Esim swap is only to do on TCB to ATM...No way to get it from ATM to ATM2.
I think in your case you will need a ATM2 on your VIN new from bmw, or use some kind of can filter to use a ATM2 that is active from another car.

RE: Bmw G31 retrofit Mgu id7 atm problem
i got the same problem with G01 from 03/2021.
From factory was installed
EntryEVO (RADIO)
ATM1

I have installed following:
MGU
KOMBI (Live Cockpit Professional)
RAM
iDrive
ATM2 (SIM card swaped from ATM1 to ATM2)
Connecting speed EDGE!
It's not possible, because the IMEI (WH from ATM) is registered to the ATM1!!

Now i have ordered NEW ONE ATM2 with my VIN
Connected seems good (LTE)

But no one of the connected drive services are working!!
Connected Drive support don't help at all!!

Can anybody helpl me out with changing parameters in connected drive backend from ATM_EMEDIAEVO to ATM2high_MGUhigh?

RE: Bmw G31 retrofit Mgu id7 atm problem
I believe there are a bunch of minor coding changes all over the place needed when going from ATM1 to ATM2.
I think the best way might be to find when G31 changed from ATM1 to ATM2 and then change the FA/VO with the new zeitkriterium, then recode the car.

I have a similar situation. But I did not switch to ATM2, I keep ATM1. I look who can change to ATM_MGUhigh. Have you found a solution?

On this type of retrofit you don't need to replace BDC, so no worries about that.

EntryNav2, MGU, Evo - carplay with or without ATM, full fsc, component protection and more.
NCD 2.0 secure coding - typeschlussel (typecode) change, region change
under Press rep & thanks if I you found this useful. PM if you need more help.

so no vin mismatch between mgu/kombi and bdc?
