Ok, so the middle point on M3 gauge is between 120 and 150 - 135 km/h, so from 135 to 330 the needle goes a half of the dial - (4622 / 2) = 2311 steps for (330 - 135) = 195 km/h.

2311 / 195 = 11,85 steps/km for the second half of the dial. Also the same value we have for 120 to 135 km/h range, because there is the same markup step.

Based on this we can get amount of steps for 120-330 km/h and it's 210 * 11,85 = 2489 steps. The remaining 2133 steps are for 0-120 km/h meaning 17,775 steps/km like you you've calculated. So you were close, actually.

Hey mate, the last calculation worked. But now I'm confused. If the speed dial is linear. I just gave to calculate the steps for (km/h / max amount of steps), right?

Effective speed:

0.0 / 13.0 / 52.0 / 120.0 / 300.0

Motor steps:

0 / 200 / 800 / 1484 / 4622 should be right?

Calculated 15.40 steps per kmh. So I can use this value to calculate all 4 points by calculating:
13*14,40 = 200
52*14,50= 800
120*14,50=1484
300*14,50=4622

But if I measure the cluster speed with gps app it's always 4-5 kmh off. The faster I drive, the bigger the difference becomes.  Any bad calculation?

EDIT:

With oem coded cluster to 280 the GPS also shows a difference from 5 km/h. I guess it's like a tolerance?

But still too much difference on the calculated cluster.

You're right about tolerance, but did you set the same values for effective and displaying speeds?

Yes i did, should i calculate the tolerance ? So for display speed 5 km/h higher than the real speed ?

It's up to you if you need real or speed with tolerance. I'm not quite sure about how it works, because there's also a coding flag BC_V_KORREKTUR for tolerance, which you can change using NCS. I assume this param just switch between effective/displaying scales, but maybe it works in a different way.

Yeah, just leave it as it is...

Is there a way i can adjust the starting point of the needles ? Setting them manually by hand is such a pain lol

With "start position offset", but that´s just to correct the position a little bit, not for big corrections

There never was an diesel with speedo up to 330kmh so there are no default settings. I have done it on e92 330i or 335i I don´t remember. He put speedometer from M3 E9x.
This files I can share if needed

It is better to try a real test instead of toolbox test. If the dial layout is not linear, the test won't work correctly.
