F20 EPS Failure
I have got a problem with a bmw F20 1- series. I changed the EPS and VO coded it to the car. Then I started initiating it with Ista and did everything according to the plan.
Problem is still there with new EPS and coding. Everytime you turn the steering wheel it first starts easy then slips a little bit and then its very hard to turn. Is this a coding problem or maybe angle sensor problem? Austria is the country with the Schnitzel, not the kangaroos

This problem usually starts when motor drive is installed from another-hand drive car. You can flash, code this, but result always will like you said, if you are not carefully, it can wrap your hands on steering wheel. I met this a lot of times, when local guys buy cheap and easy available motors from right-hand cars instead original broken locally rare and more expensive left-hand car.

You need an fsc for the EPS servotronics, if you didn’t save it out of the old unit you will need your repair pack.
You don’t “flash” anything unless your I-step is wrong, but you must inject a cafd, code, and run the ISTA calibration, for this you should have the car on the ground not up in the air. You will run into trouble if the donor motor has an fsc of a later date than your OEM, as far as I know you cannot virginise an EPS. Kafas2 FSC part numbers

Check your FA see if you have option 216 Servotronics. If you have that option you must use FSC repair pack and the used/donor EPS must be older than the one that was previously in your car to inject FSC into successfully.

Not a fsc problem here, without fsc eps works without servotronic, so it be harder to turn when stationary, but nothing that You explain here.
