RE: Good or Bad Vas5054A
With my VAS5054a I only get connection with cars from +/- 2007 until now. Before that in Odis the icon from car lights up but ignition X?
What could be the problem? |

RE: Good or Bad Vas5054A
How can I check which firmware my VAS5054a has. And I want to know the version of EDIC_D_PDU_API that works the best with that firmware.

I answered in your thread. Firmware changes autimatically with the different odis installations' pdu_api, when you run odis or the pdi_api utility. |

I already have a genuine AMB Bluetooth and green PCB boardYou mean this?? Mine both come without this regulator but I got some to rework when I learn how to Hi, sorry for the late reply, yes I think it's that chip in your picture, the one that comes with it is raised with 3 legs coming off it and I think a resistor is soldered across the pins at the bottom? Is this set to suit the lower voltage ram? So will it only provide 3v? I'm not sure so I thought it would need replacing to supply the new 5v ram with 5v? I'm not sure as I haven't replaced the ram yet......... cheers |

RE: Good or Bad Vas5054A
If you change the memory change the voltage regulator too which is of a better quality. Chinese are using lower cost parts not redesigning vas5054a voltage regulator to suit the memory installed. Not sure if changing voltage regulator to 3V, vas5054a will work properly. We need an expert opinion. Guys who can reply on this subject??
Will vas5054a work properly with a 3V regulator and 3V memory types???? If yes is there such a voltage regulator?? |

Hi, what I mean is if I replace the memory for the good 5v memory but leave the cheap Chinese voltage regulator in place will it be able to supply the new ram with 5v or do I need to replace the regulator ... cheers |

RE: Good or Bad Vas5054A
The cheap Chinese "regulator" was always supplying 5V.
The rest of the tool is designed to run on 5V, you can't just convert it to 3.3V just for the wrong ram. |
