Checked that resistor and it was ~37k, o it should be ok because it is 5%. After 3 years of using they have started to fail to read KLINE sometimes and about in a month using like that KLINE was dead totally. Check KLINE with other ICOM and it was ok. |

RE: BMW Icom A2 repair
Yes 37k this is normal.
There is no unequivocal answer on your question, you need to check a lot. Сheck the diodes and inverters. |

RE: BMW Icom A2 repair
After reading this thread I finally decided to try and fix my ICOM clone that would not connect to K-line vehicles. It had a second issue where it would connect to D-can vehicle's but not with ethernet on the F-cars. I replaced the inverters shown in post #25 with no change. In post #4 the pcb had the IC marked VP234 (SN65HVD234D) removed so I figured it's cheap and easy enough to replace. After replacement of the VP234 chip my ICOM would properly connect to several K-line vehicles but lost KL15 voltage readings on D-can vehicles. I re-checked my work and found a solder connection between the small resistors in-line beside the VP234 chip. After removing the excessive solder my ICOM works properly. Not sure why the VP234 had an effect on the K-line as it seems to only be for the D-can...hopefully this info helps someone.

RE: BMW Icom A2 repair
Hi,
can someone helpl with icom a2 connection issues? Used for about 2 years and everything worked fine. Couple days ago tried to connect with e-sys and got error. Rheingold, inpa, ncsexpert works fine. With enet cable i can connect via e-sys without problems. Did self-test and got WLAN failure. WLAN is for WIFI? because I don't notice ever that WLAN is blinked. My icom doesn't have wifi. Maybe someone know how to fix that connection issue? Thanks |
