RE: Choosing ICOM- genuine or clone?
Since 4 years I use a clone because it was simply cheaper to buy. With time ICOM got seriously cheaper as original... so for a friend I bought original one. Both work without problems !

RE: Choosing ICOM- genuine or clone?
Have a look at ebay, there are different vendors out there. Mainly from China, but sometimes also UK and Germany. For original ICOM directly ask at BMW.

RE: Choosing ICOM- genuine or clone?
I had a clone ICOM A2 and that died after 2 years. Luckily, I wasn't flashing. I was doing diagnostics and it kept disconnecting and died completely. I ended up buying an original ICOM Next for around $540. Well worth it.
