RE: NBT EVO2 Retrofit - GPS Issue
I always use Hirchmann GPS antennas. And locate them under a-panel lower side so it can reach true the black line or the wind screen. Also when you have to much wire my experience is to make big looms.

RE: NBT EVO2 Retrofit - GPS Issue
As a test, try putting the antenna on the roof of the car - most are magnetic - I've had this issue with cars where they have a windscreen that has the solar protection - that can block the GPS signal, which is very weak.
On cars with this issue I route the GPS antenna into the engine bay and afix to the underside of the bmw badge (in the correct orientation) on the front bumper - this may be more difficult on a Mini but you could try behind the front bumper. |

RE: NBT EVO2 Retrofit - GPS Issue
Thanks Wibbles. I decided to try the same thing yesterday (with respect to putting the antenna on the roof as a test). I’ll keep an eye on it for a few days and report back.

RE: NBT EVO2 Retrofit - GPS Issue
I'm optimistic this issue is now resolved. It appears the issue was reception, even though when I looked in the service menu, it appeared everything was fine.
With the antenna in various locations inside the car, if I left a garage, the car would often not be able to find the correct position afterwards. With an aftermarket magnetic antenna on the roof of the car, I had no problems. Now when I leave a parking garage in the city, it only takes a block or two for the car to find the right position. In the course of trying to sort this out, I discovered that my car's (factory) roof antenna already had a jack for a blue fakra connector, so I've run a cord from the headunit to the factory antenna, and everything is working well. Unless this problem returns, I think we can consider this resolved. Thank you everyone for your input. |

RE: NBT EVO2 Retrofit - GPS Issue
I installed the antenna near the rain sensor and it became very stable but still, sometimes even on the highway the car’s position is lost!
I think nbtevo is locked for work with atm for the similarity of regional coding or coding by fa, as when retrofitting with atm, navigation works flawlessly. |
