F series kilometer freezer module
In my neighbourhood are people that are using kilometre/mileage freezer module. Module is connected between original instruments connector and instruments. Cars are F10, F30 and so on.
I have roughly diagnosed one car with this module and I couldn’t find real kilometre value. Only value that is reliable is counter when the engine was running in seconds. Does anybody have an experience with this module? Is it really almost untraceable? Or is the real odometer value still anywhere stored? |

RE: F series kilometer freezer module
This module just terminates mileage sync between instruments cluster and other ecu. In ISTA, call up ECU functions in DME or EGS, and select kilometer reading should able to read real mileage.

RE: F series kilometer freezer module
if you are genius enough , you can calculate engine running time versus average speed and you might end up with somewhere near the real figures but no guarantee on that as its not a solid evidence , cars used in cities have higher engine running time with less mileage than cars used on highways for example .
the service due KM keeps reducing even with the freezer module is active . but again a little smart person who knows ISTA+ or other simple tools can adjust those information manually . there will be always one fault registered in the car about KM checksum, but once you delete this error and drive the car few meters after removing the freezer , this error never comes back . always the physical condition of the car can tell the real age and real mileage especially the interior condition. |
