Did you try to read the old 9.2.1 on bench with BDM? Sometimes ECU is damaged but you can read the important data. Then buy a used 0261209010 ECU an flash the komplete BDM data back, this should work. But you need the right tools, this is not possible with BMW stuff.

If you use a ECU from the X5 model it is important to flash the MPU config file, because the CANBUS GPIO pins are on a different place and you will not have any response. 9.2 has two CANBUS lines the order where the pins have to be placed is written in the config file inside the MPU which is soldered with BGA pads on the PCB. (the big chip without any solderings, you cant see them)

Otherwise swap both TSOP Flash Chips and the SOIC8 95080 placed on the left side of the MPU from your old ECU. If the donor ECU was working in a E60 it should work too. But you need good soldering skills, this is nothing for solder beginners.

0261209010 this unit was badly damaged, on the car from which I took the engine. I bought such a unit, read the old bdm, and wrote it in a new one. Checked - works. I put the engine in the BMW X5 E53, block number of the computer 0261209020
