Hi. I have 2004-08 manufactured E87 118D. I want to retrofit cruise control, but this car has older DSC unit and i cannot find suitable steering switch column, so maybe is possible to upgrade DSC unit to newer so it would be compatible with steering switch unit from E91? Anyone has done that?

Can someone provided a PuMA 28262835? this should have some info related to it.

is there some error you have?

i've retrofited maybe 20 cruise control to 1/3er 2.0d bmw. never have issues with it.

replace szl
add +540 to VO
recode DSC and Kombi
calibrate Steering wheel turn sensor (mostly just initialize it)
in 3er you can add showing actutual cruise speed, but 1er don't have it (not this old)

this is usual whole story. steering switch doesnt matter if it is from sedan/coupe/touring every should work, of course if you don't need rear wiper. but don't exchange right hanle, than you will have SZL-internal error.

yes, error is 5E51 DSC: Steering-angle sensor: serial number invalid.

did you code DSC with NCS?

DSC was flashed to latest before retrofit, DSC unit was coded after new steering column installation, but errors persisted. i sold that steering switch column, it was from 2007 E91. When browsing parts on realoem i noticed that for my vehicle steering switch column only fit till 2004/12. And somewhere on internet i read that on that time DSC unit was changed, so i assume it's something to do with it.

If SLZ does not match your vehicle, you will not reset the steering angle. You have to choose the SLZ after the Realoem for your Car.

yes, i kinda suspected that, but it's hard to find matching part number, so i was wondering on upgrading DSC unit.
