RE: F56 pre-LCI or LCI LED lamps retrofit nightmare
HI,

why did you disable the LWR?
Standard LED headlights was equipped with manual LWR.

Possible that you missing a wire for the indicators or that the BDC isnt the right one.

RE: F56 pre-LCI or LCI LED lamps retrofit nightmare
Pre lci needs auto leveling. Lci non matrix works with manual lwr.

If the car was originally equipped with halogen we have a whole different story. If it was equipped with pre lci led then coding to lci is not that hard…. But the blinkers will not work if the headlights themselves are not coded to the car! I have done these retrofits many many times. Send me a pm i will help you out…

HI,

thanks for clarification about that only LCI non matrix used manual LWR.
The car was equipped with halogen headlights, so new wiring is needed and there are no information written.

RE: F56 pre-LCI or LCI LED lamps retrofit nightmare
Code with 5a2 and oem date the bdc

Code the headlight with 5a2 and 03-19 the headlight.

If you want disable correctly the lwr make a comparison with the two fdl generated with the different date… in the 03-19 the auto lwr is disabled by default.

And after all put the bdc in sleep mode. The bdc on f56 platform can make some joke with the lamp check after the coding until you send it in sleep mode.

I’ve done this retrofit many times without problems…

He still needs the wiring if he haven´t done it yet, like K-CAN3, LIN etc.

K-CAN3 is already finish because he can see ecu with esys and code it but not sure for lin if it is correct.

Successfully retrofit on BMW F30 335xi 248,302,3AG,430,5AG,5AS,6NS,8TH,IHKA3

(30-10-2022, 09:57 AM)diagso Wrote:  I'm going banans with retrofit of front LED lights (LCI and pre-LCI) to 2015 F56 Cooper D and not planning to add LWR

Whatever I do below errors always come back on BDC with effect that only indicators are not working at all ( not even blinking fast)

BDC - Body Domain Controller
80418A -> Output, front left indicator faulty
80418B -> Output, front right indicator faulty
80418D -> Output, right auxiliary indicator faulty

What I did thus far:

1. Rear LCI lights retrofit withe HELC - works perfect
2. Added 5A2 to VO and coded BDC and lamps ECU's on pre-LCI hardware
3. Disabled LWR via FDL
4. Updated whole car to 07.2022 iLevel
5. Replicated point 2 and 3 with K552(retrofit of LCI adaptive lamps) on LCI headlamps
6. Tried 5A4 coding just to check if anything changes but still exactly the same errors return
7. Fooled around with BDC FDL coding
8. BDC exchange to 2017 F15's and got stuck in exactly same place

I've read that car BDC might be not compatible hence I took one that I had lying around from F15 2017 with 524 and all round cameras plus parking assistantand cloned Mini BDC to it. Then programing it via ESYS and coded. Outcome is exactly the same as on ori BDC.

Happy to pay for support with solving my MINI nightmare retrofit smile

I am not sure, what you are doing but if the blinkers are not working you have the wrong FLE´s installed, the wrong SWFL on the FLE´s or the FLE´s are defective. The blinker signal comes over the Can-Bus and the FLE is the switch in the headlight. If its not working your problem is 100% the FLE and nothing else wink

I just did the retrofit of the Matrix LED on a 2017 preLCI F56 and it was like a little fight with these FLEs and I had the same error with the blinkers wink
So believe me and check the FLE´s (general function, correct SWFL, correct HWEL....)
the SA´s in the VO for coding are unimportant for blinkers. If the FLE accepts the coding, the blinkers should work!
