BMW Keys for CAS4 / FEM-BDC Difference / Source
hi guys,
i have two simple questions. 1. where you buy good quality keys (blank) for CAS4, FEM/BDC cars (preffered in EU)? When i order a CAS4 key with PCF7935P (433 MHz) and try to learn it on a FEM with 433 MHz will it work? Or only FEM keys work on FEM? 2. So my question is if there is any difference between CAS4 and FEM / BDC-keys. Thanks! If my post helped you hit the thanks and reputation button.

You can use them easily. The best ones is always original but you need to virgin them first.

Hi, let me try to explain the difference between keys, usually CAS4 has an EWS4 system and EWS4 type of keys but some latest CAS4_2 have an EWS5 system and EWS5 type of keys, and FEW/BDC have the same EWS5 system and EWS5 type of keys. So you can use EWS5 Keys on both systems EWS4 and EWS5, and EWS4 keys you can use only on the EWS4 system.

Very important difference is the frequency. FEM has 433,2 and CAS4 has 433,9. The frequency of keys can be changed very easly with virginizing it. But if you want use another frequency you must change antena amplifer (diversity) to frequency equal.

New factory keys are pre-programmed for a given frequency with which they are to operate and in order to change it to another one, they must be cleaned and pre-programmed for a different frequency.
