I tried to change manually the first two lines in mode 2, but it fails each time

Probably, the first two lines (0x00h - 0x1Fh) INC area like all other M35080 / 160xx variants. You have to select MODE_1 to be able to erase the first two lines.

Always be sure what mode you want to use:

• MODE_1 uses the first two lines
  
• MODE_2 do not uses them, so the value for 0x00h - 0x1Fh should be still 0x00h
  

Yes, mode 1 is for the two first lines.
However, as soon as I try to use mode 1, I have error message: mileage more than 800.000km is not supported, then the process is aborted..

I also add the dump file I try to write with mileage 16400km. Then I have the error: Mileage more than 800.000 not possible to reset

The programmer doesn't read anything when all content is FFh.

Try MODE_2 variant in attachment. But be aware that you have to code the cluster because beside the odometer, everything has FFh instead of the expected data.

Unfortunately it was impossible to write the new dump:
In mode 1, I have immediately the error message: Mileage more than 800.000km is not supported
In mode 2, the process takes about 20 minutes for calculations, then I have: write failed

Except BMW Explorer, no available other solution for the chip 128WT ?

In my case also the first two lines are 01 04. But not every bit as you can see.

Then MODE_1 is not always 0000 alone.

MODE_1 and / or MODE_2 is only for the M35128 EEPROM types important because they have different memory addresses.

• MODE_1: Odometer information stored only in the first 32 bytes (0x00h - 0x1Fh)
  
• MODE_2: Odometer information not (only) in the first 32 bytes.
