Plug pican addon board to rpi, write config for it, install canutils, send can frames to your canbus. Wiring ofcourse too

RE: BMW CIC - Convert: F series to E series CIC
you need to add serial to V850 with some IO and VCC for front panel, then flash V850 to E-Serie dump, same with spansion flashes, and you have E series CIC, same as with Combox, just flash spansion and get E series.
Problem with some devices can be canbus transcievers if changing spec between BN2000 and BN2020, but this can be reworked on the board by replacing transciever with compatible one, as firmware form the new dump will try to initialize it on correct freq.

I dont know what kind of progress do you expect but in last post i just described all that needs to be done, arduino you can put it the trash-can.

Sorry, but you give just untested theory in your messages. 1) Firmware for V850 is same for both E and F, it's easy to check via unpacking spdaten and psdzdata; 2) v850 is read-protected so it's impossible to get full dump for use with NEC programmer. 3) Even after full Spansion, v850 and eeprom rewrite with E-series dumps, your CIC will correctly report in all ID it is E, you can use WinKFP to perform full programming, but all front panel signals will be inactive. Volume knob on/off has direct wire and since it low state CIC will constantly reboot. Yes, I tried to wire 5V here and no difference. Probably there is something like soldered jumper for E/F mode switch. Post please full v850 CIC E-series dump or you can put in trash-can whole this your thread. |

RE: BMW CIC - Convert: F series to E series CIC
I know the topic is old, but I would like to raise a somewhat similar question.
I have tried E series board and vertical board with Spansion ot F. Replaced only Spansion from E series with F. Winkfp manages to flash 62,63,A0. CIC is coded successfully for E series, but the buttons do not work on the front panel. Only the mute button. Im check there are no hardware differences and swapping of jumpers in E and F vertical board. Someone has done a similar intervention and has information Don't forget to hit the THANKS and REPORTbutton. Thank you! Activation NBT/EVO/ENTRYNAV2/MGU MAP/CARPLAY/ANDROID AUTO |

RE: BMW CIC - Convert: F series to E series CIC
Hi. Im trying to flash V850 with build firmware from spdaten in F series CIC to get GW worked with E series but CIC is in boot mode (max fan rpm) and no communication on can and most. Doiko when you use vercitical board from F series CIC run? Or you must flash it to fully worked? Maybe someone have worked v850 dump to get can communication or most???

RE: BMW CIC - Convert: F series to E series CIC
Hello everyone, little off topic here. I have a E90 CIC and i want to fit it in my E60. I'm guessing the faceplate needs to be changed, no problem. As for the faceplate fitment, i see online that it leaves a little indent, it does not sit flush. Is the best way to fix this to glue the faceplate to the plastic, does anyone have experience? Thanks

Sp-daten v850 ain't full, it doesn't contain gw table. |
