Hello dear community,

I have a CAS 3 ECU from a BMW E87 and I want to flash it with WinKFP with a software without ELV.
My problem is that I only have the CAS3.

Is it possible that I can flash the CAS on bench with K-DCAN cable? I want to conect the pins from K-DCAN with the CAS ECU. Is this possible?

If this is possible what I need to do? Which pins I need to connect?
Would be proud if someone of this forum could give me an instruction how to flash it on right way.

you dont need nothing special for this as everithing need for flash like FA..etc is in this unit..so power up everithing on bench and flash it..if you need pinout I can provide..

I had conntected the CAS with my K+DCAN Cable like in the pinouts but I get an Error IFH-0009

Try connect CanH and CanL to pin 6 and 14 on obd side. I don't remember pin 6 is High or Low but try both options.

If you have DCAN lead, you might need to set it at 100kb/s K CAN speed, DCAN and PT CAN are 500kb/s

There is a "DCAN switch utility" which can set the lead to DCAN/PTCAN 500kb/s, KCAN 100kb/s or CAN off


If you go through a KGM or JBBE, you can connect DCAN into unit (or even K Line into the KGM/JBBE of pre 2007) and the body module will pass the data onto KCAN 100kb/s

I have successfull recovered more FRM3 Bmw and Mini whit UPA/X-Prog and VVDI Programmer, read Plash on bench and extract and fix eee whit Dflah to eeprom:

Now my answer is, It's possible repair FRM3 whitout removed it, whit ISTA-P for example?
